Tell.Me.She.Did.Not.Say.That

…was my response on reading the quote below(after ROTFL for 5 mins over the faux pas). [A response very similar to Sunny’s at Pickled Politics]

Rimi Sen who plays Nirali confesses that she also felt that she was a boy in the company of Ajay, Tusshar, Sharman and Arshad. “I play a sweet and beautiful girl in the film. The best thing that I like about the film is that though it has four heroes, I am the only heroine. Rohit Shetty is amazing as a director. He can make even a black African look pretty“.

Yup you read it right – she actually said that according to Yahoo! India. Check out their article here In case they have changed the words as GlamSham seems to have done check the screenshot here

The fact that we are generally gori-chamdi lovers and quite racists is quite a well know fact. It is still shocking to hear someone actually utter the fact so stupidly and even more confusing how Y!India can carry such a blatant racist remark.

Well today seems to be the boos of funny and cynical days from me.

  1. Quite frankly , I don’t think we know the meaning of racism unless its directed at us.

I heard this dame on Radio Mid-day once, “I can’t recognise any of the west indian cricketers. They all look the same”

Everyone laughed at the joke. I laughed too before realising several days later. Sigh. I just grew a year older that day.

  2. Here’s one report that talks not only about the Rimi Sen but supposedly comments made by Hrithik Roshan.

    (An excerpt)
“Ms Pandohar says journalists were caught surprised at a recent London press conference for the Bollywood blockbuster Kkrish.

At the event, well known actor Hrithik Roshan made a passing comment about how he knew it was time to leave Shanghai and Hong Kong after six weeks of stunt training and go home when his eyes started “turning into little slits like the Chinese”.”

Why’s no one going after Roshan Jr.? Coz he’s far more famous? Coz he’s a man? Or Coz the chinese were enemies once and are comptetitors now?

    This is fun! 🙂
