Scoble’s interesting post on the ‘expertise’ of everyman.

with one comment

Economic Idiocy‘ is an interestingly downbeat post by a generally upbeat personality. It is interesting not just from the current context of the big failure being faced by the US economy. More interesting, in my opinion, was his questioning the intellect of the collective – of the masses. He has managed to pinpoint the exact issue with a decentralised system, it just takes a small critical mass to cause a wave and not all waves are necessarily well thought out or even healthy in the long run. At the same time the other end of the spectrum is to live in a gilded cage of a centralised system. I have often thought about these things. However the way Scoble put it out there and the fact that ‘he’ did (I did not expect such a cynical view from blogosphere’s and disrptive media’s biggest fanboy) – made me link him here for the 2-3 people who visit me.

P.S: Normally you would find my favourite Scoble’s posts in my shared links. You can also find the latest posts there in my sidebar.

Johny Hart – ‘B.C.’ cartoonist dies.

without comments

More news here.

Personally I had no idea of the man but I have enjoyed ‘B.C.’ fo a very long time. as per the news he died while working, of stroke. Ironic that the cartoonist of ‘B.C.’ should pass on to the Pearly Gates during Passover.

I am sure Heaven is going to be a more happier and perkier place now:)

Celebrity Face Match

Intrigued by Raoul’s post I hopped over to the My Heritage site. Since I had no pics of myself i took a quick and dirty one using my webcam – you know the grainy CNN-war-time-coverage-reporter-talking-through-satellite-phone style. I thought maybe I look like Alfred Hitchcock now. The matches that came up quite surprised me.

David Seaman – 63% (Not Bad) t4751_85_128.jpg
Tiger Woods – 63% (Yah Baby;)) t19110_96_128.jpg
Jawaharlal Nehru – 58% (That’s cool) t9335_96_128.jpg
William Randolph Hearst – 56% t20145_96_128.jpg
Sani Abacha – 56% (this seemed to be a good match) t17592_128_128.jpg
Malcolm McDowell – 56%(Cool) t12948_96_128.jpg
Sigmund Freud – 55% (Psych me this;)) t18232_96_128.jpg
and the kicker-
Rani Mukherjee -54% :D t16272_96_128.jpg

And if we you are wondering what the photo I uploaded looked like:picture-1.jpg

A sweet and sore day at the games.(aka I HATE C.RONALDO)

with 2 comments

Whoah! This was one of the most emotional days at the games – absolutely heart-in-the mouth action.

First the heart-wrenching defeat of England. Yes they should have played better-yes Lampard and gerrard should have scored etc. etc. Still I am not really sure that Portugal deserved to win that one (Ricardo is a fantastic saver of the penalty, i will give you that) The real culprits for me – the actor/cheater Roanaldo and Sven Goran. No mood to go into the reasons.
Still it is the scoreline that matters – the victors – Portugal

The came the Brazil-France match and it was magical. Really sad that Brazil were out but they only have themselves to blame. On a day when Zizou came alive it would require a sterling performance from any team to be able to beat France, and Brazil did not look that team. Very disappointing performance by them. A great win for France. Hope they go and knock out Portugal(Though it will not be easy with Deco back) The victors – France

In short both my predictions for the day fell by the wayside. Still I am happy I did buy a lot of virtual shares in the name of France in the BBC sportDAQ :)

The king of sarcasm!!!

with 2 comments

If you want to hear the pinnacle of sarcasm you must, i repeat, must listen to Jeremy Clarkson, especially when he is speaking of matters connected to either motorcycles or the Germans. I was watching the show “Visiting the neighbours – Jeremy Clarkson” and had to change channels to stop laughing from all the potshots he was taking against the Germans. Man! That guy is E-vil:)

[Update]: Check out Venky’s “Thinking” Blog for a link to his Times article on The VW Golf. Well worth a visit. Here is a link to all his articles.
